Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian is a pretty good book so far. At the beginning I felt it was really slow and not much happened besides the introduction of characters and flashbacks. Towards the end of this part of the book it started to get interesting though. When Junior decides he is going to transfer schools to go to Reardan, Rowdy punches him because he is angry that he will be loosing his best and only friend. This part made me kind of angry that he would hurt him, but I understood why he was so upset to loose his friend especially since he has had such a rough childhood thus far.
One of my favorite characters so far is Juniors sister, Mary runs away. I really enjoyed learning about her secret desire to write romance novels, but I was sort of upset how it seemed like she lost her desire to write anymore. When Mr. P told Junior all of this I thought it was really interesting that Junior had never known about this passion of hers. I am really enjoying this book and I like getting to know the characters so far.
I agree that Mary is a very interesting and unique character. I liked reading this part too because it was so shocking that Junior didn't know.
