anticipating our next book

2. If you are in a position of power, you are happy.
8. If something is destined to happen, it will happen without your interference.

In the first statement, I strongly disagree because I do not believe that being in a position of power will cause someone to be happy. I believe this because having a higher power does not directly correlate to how happy someone is. I believe that many other things, like one’s faith, friends, or family, can contribute to one’s happiness. I know that some people believe that money and power will give someone happiness, but once they get that money and power, they just want more. This shows how greedy someone is since even after they receive the money and power they wished for, they still aren’t happy.
I disagree with this next statement as well because I believe that even if something is destined to happen, doesn’t mean that our decisions will not affect this event. For example, if you are destined to go to college, meaning your parents went and they are expecting the same of you, but you decide to slack off in school, then you won’t go to college. This shows that even though someone may be predetermined to do something, doesn't mean your actions won’t get in the way of this event.

  1. I agree with you that just because you are in a position doesn't automatically mean that you are going to be happy. This is a good blog post in which you state your opinions very clearly.

  3. I agree with both of your statements. You show really good examples. But I believe that nothing is really destined to happen, things just happen as they come, no one knows the future.
