My ideas and interests may change in the future, but currently I want to be a biomedical engineer. A biomedical engineer is in both the engineering field and the medical field. Biomedical engineers work with doctors to research and develop new and more advanced technology in order to solve clinical problems. They make things like artificial organs and prosthetic limbs, and they also make things like computer programming systems that diagnose patients more accurately and faster. This field has always interested me, even though I have just recently learned the name of the field. I have always loved math and science, so I knew I wanted to go into either the engineering field or the medical field, so biomedical engineering is perfect for me since it touches on all of my interests.
This profession requires up to a master's degree, but I am very interested in getting a PhD. To receive my bachelor's degree, I will probably go to LSU honors college on tops for four years and major in general engineering. Then, I will go to Georgia Technical Institute to receive my master's degree. I will go here for two years and major in biomedical engineering and minor in computer programming. Then I will attend John Hopkins University for my PhD. The average time it takes to get a PhD is 8 years, but my goal is to do it in only 4 years.
This seems like an interesting job to have and I bet you would be very good at it since you are smart. I like how you have your career already planned out. This is a good and detailed blog post.
